Czarnikow (CZ), a global supply chain management company in the food and beverage sector, has today announced record profits and a global expansion into new sectors. It’s expansion programme is on target to double CZ’s number of employees over five years, taking the number of international employees to approximately 500.
CZ has posted a record turnover of US$4,300 million for 2022, and its highest profit before tax of US$26.9 million, achieving six years of consecutive growth.
Working with 500 food and beverage manufacturers, over 300 primary and secondary processors and around 200 farmers and growers, CZ moved 7.9 million metric tonnes of products worldwide last year.
Previously known primarily for sugar, CZ now works across four main operational lines: advisory services, agri-products, energy and food ingredients and packaging. With sustainable supply chains an aim for all business activity, CZ sources, moves, de-risks and delivers a wide range of products.
Over the past year, its agriproducts team shipped its first wheat, soya beans, non-GMO soybeans and corn cargo, moving goods from Australia to the Middle East, from the USA to Thailand and from Brazil to the Dominican Republic. CZ has confirmed that 2023 will see further first shipments of cassava, soybean oil and sorghum.
CZ’s food ingredients & packaging business increased revenue by 18%, a testament to excellent relationships with its clients, who comprise both UK and global food and beverage companies. In 2022, CZ added three product categories to its portfolio, and in 2023 they are already working on sourcing starch alternatives.
